About
Bec Talbot is a self-taught Gold Coast-based emerging artist whose textured, earthy-toned abstract works are inspired by the region’s natural beauty and her personal journey of resilience and healing through art.
Originally hailing from Western Sydney, Bec made the move north in search of a slower, more family-focused lifestyle amidst the stunning coastal and hinterland scenery.
With a background in primary education, Bec’s journey into the art world was an unexpected yet deeply transformative one. After receiving a life-altering cancer diagnosis, she stepped away from the classroom to focus on her recovery and well-being. It was during this challenging period that she turned to painting, discovering not only a creative outlet but also a source of solace and healing. For Bec, art became a powerful form of therapy - one that nurtured her mindfulness and brought a sense of calm to her life.
Now painting full-time, Bec’s work reflects her love of abstract expression. Inspired by the rich textures and earthy tones of her surroundings, she brings the natural beauty of the Gold Coast’s coastline and hinterland to life on the canvas. Working primarily with acrylics and textured mediums, she creates intricate, layered pieces that are both tactile and visually striking. Her art celebrates the interplay of neutral palettes and subtle colour accents, resulting in works that feel grounded yet dynamic.
Through her art, Bec shares a personal journey of resilience and renewal, offering pieces that not only tell her story but also evoke a connection to nature and the healing power of creativity.
